Maple Syrup Shortbread

Its December, raining season.Best season to bake, with the festive season around the corner; The inspiration to bake yummy cookies is flying high. Its a tiring day but it does not deter me from trying our new cookies recipe. I decided to bake Shortbread cookies with a touch of maple syrup; instead of the usual butter cookies.
Heres the ingredients :
Ingredients :
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
1/4 maple syrup
1 tbs sugar
pinch of salt
1/8 tsp of vanilla essence

Beat the maple syrup and butter until smooth:

Add in the sifted flour:

and form a dough
use a cutter to form the cookies shape

After baking, let it cool for awhile before transferring to a container.

Finally , freshly baked Maple Syrup Shortbread is complete after almost 1 1/2 hrs. The tedious part is shaping the cookie and waiting for it to be baked, before the next batch is send to bake. I have a small oven, hence, need to repeat this process many times. Get my "guinea Pigs" to taste the cookies, comment was not enough syrup. Will definitely increase the dosage the next time. Baked a few dozens, tomorrow my sunday school students will get to sample my "creation" . Hope they like it :)
